STOP PLANNING CONTENT LIKE IT'S 2019

Do you ever plan your content?

Lots of people struggle with having content ready to go but that doesn’t have to be you!

I struggling just like that.

Then I started using AI to do the boring “research” part for me. And now I build 7 days of content ideas in under 10 minutes.

Let me show you exactly how ⬇️

Quick Detour for my sponsors today: ROKU

Check out what they are offering for my readers:

How Jennifer Aniston’s LolaVie brand grew sales 40% with CTV ads

The DTC beauty category is crowded. To break through, Jennifer Aniston’s brand LolaVie, worked with Roku Ads Manager to easily set up, test, and optimize CTV ad creatives. The campaign helped drive a big lift in sales and customer growth, helping LolaVie break through in the crowded beauty category.

🚨 OKAY BACK TO TOPIC 🚨

STEP 1: TELL AI WHO YOU ARE

Before you ask for content ideas, AI needs context.

Without it, you'll get generic garbage that sounds like every other account on the internet.

Drop this into ChatGPT, Grok, or Claude:

I'm a content creator focused on [YOUR NICHE]. My audience is [DESCRIBE THEM]. My tone is [direct/funny/edgy/casual/etc]. I post primarily on [X/Instagram/LinkedIn/TikTok]. My content pillars are:

1. [Pillar 1 - e.g., AI tools & tips]
2. [Pillar 2 - e.g., personal branding]
3. [Pillar 3 - e.g., lifestyle/mindset]
4. [Pillar 4 - e.g., behind the scenes]

Remember this context for all future prompts in this conversation.

This is the foundation. Skip it and everything else falls apart.

STEP 1: TELL AI WHO YOU ARE

Now hit AI with this:

Based on my niche, audience, and content pillars, generate a 7-day content calendar.

For each day, give me:
→ The content pillar it falls under
→ The post format (thread, single post, carousel idea, video script, poll, hot take, story, educational breakdown)
→ A specific topic or angle (not vague)
→ A scroll-stopping hook (first line of the post)

Mix up the formats. Don't repeat the same pillar back to back. Make sure each idea is specific enough that I can sit down and write it immediately.

That's it. One prompt. 7 days. Done.

You'll get a full calendar with hooks, angles, and formats already decided. No more blank-page panic. You can build your content based on that going forward.

STEP 3: REFINE THE ONES THAT YOU LOVE

Not every idea will be gold. That's fine.

Scan the list. Save the ones that excite you. Delete the dum ones.

Then for each one you wanna build on, ask:

Take idea #[X] and expand it into a full post draft. Write it in my tone and voice. Keep it punchy, skimmable, and under 280 characters for a single post (or outline a thread if the format calls for it). Include a strong CTA at the end that encourage people to reply in the comments (avoid questions that result in a yes or no answer).

Now you're not just planning. You're writing.

STEP 4: ORGANIZE IT (SO YOU ACTUALLY USE IT)

A content calendar that lives in a random ChatGPT thread is useless.

Move it somewhere you'll actually see it:

Notion — create a board view with columns for each week
Google Sheets — simple rows: Date | Pillar | Format | Hook | Status
Trello — cards for each post, drag to "Done" when published
Even Apple Notes — literally anything > a blank page

Pro tip: Ask AI to format it as a CSV table so you can paste it directly into a spreadsheet. One copy-paste and you're set.

Quick Break for my other sponsors of the day

Check out what Deel and Attio are offering for you guys:

This guide from Deel breaks down how to build one global hiring system. You’ll learn about assessment frameworks that scale, how to do headcount planning across regions, and even intake processes that work everywhere. As HR pros know, hiring in one country is hard enough. So let this free global hiring guide give you the tools you need to avoid global hiring headaches.

Attio is the AI CRM for modern teams.

Connect your email and calendar and Attio instantly builds your CRM. Every contact, every company, every conversation — organized in one place. Then ask it anything. No more digging, no more data entry. Just answers.

⚡ BONUS: MAKE IT RECURRING

If you're on Grok, set this up as a recurring task.

I covered how to do that in a previous newsletter here:

— you can literally automate Grok to scan trends and generate content ideas daily.

But even without that:

Set a reminder: 1st of every week.

Open your AI. Paste the prompts.

10 minutes later, your week has a whole new plan.

Consistency isn't about “motivation”. It's about systems.

No more "I'll figure out what to post later."

Later never comes. And you know this.

Open AI right now. Paste prompt #1.

Start.

And if you do it, reply and tell me. I wanna see your calendar.

Feel free to tag me when you post from it. 😉
