Which type of person are you in a community?
This one’s a thank you (to you).
But I won’t get cheesy. I promise.
Because what you’ve built with me (and what I’ve watched you do for each other) isn’t just “support.”
It’s the reason the internet can feel like a real world with real friends and people we consider family.
And it made me realize something:
Communities don’t grow because of “content.”
They grow because of people who show up for each other with a certain type of energy.
So here are the types I notice the most.
You’ll probably see yourself in one.
Or in more.

🚨 OKAY BACK TO TOPIC 🚨
7 TYPES OF PEOPLE WHO MAKE “ONLINE” FEEL SAFE
1) The Quietly Consistent
You don’t talk the most or post the most. But you’re always there.
You like, reply, share, check in.
→ You’re proof that consistency doesn’t need a spotlight.
If this is you: leave one comment today on someone you respect. Simple. Specific. And just so you know.. they appreciate you 🧡
2) The Receipts Person
You don’t just hype people up.
You say:
→ this part hit
→ this line fixed something in my head
→ I tried this and here’s what happened
You give proof that someone’s work matters.
Do this today: tell someone exactly what they helped you change. One sentence. No essay. And just so you know.. they appreciate you 🧡
3) The Connector
You’re the reason people meet.
You tag people.
Introduce folks in replies.
Pull the right person into the right room.
You’re basically community infrastructure.
Do this today: introduce two people who would genuinely benefit from knowing each other. And just so you know.. they’ll both appreciate you 🧡
Quick Break for my other sponsors of the day
Check out what InsightSoftware and Gladly are offering for you guys:

Close faster with confidence.
Manual tax processes drain your team's time and energy, leaving no time for analysis.
When you automate and centralize your tax data your team can access what they need, when they need it and confidently make decisions.
The best part? Your team gets time back to focus on strategic initiatives.
88% resolved. 22% loyal. Your stack has a problem.
Those numbers aren't a CX issue — they're a design issue. Gladly's 2026 Customer Expectations Report breaks down exactly where AI-powered service loses customers, and what the architecture of loyalty-driven CX actually looks like.
4) The Protector
You don’t let the room get toxic.
You shut down weird behavior.
You keep things respectful.
You don’t let someone you care about get trashed on.
You bring boundaries without making it a war.
Do this today: if you see someone getting piled on unfairly, leave one steady comment that resets the tone.
And just so you know.. they appreciate the heck out of you 🧡
5) The Challenger
You don’t just agree.
You ask:
→ “yeah but what about…?”
→ “how would this work if…?”
→ “is there a better way?”
You make people think… get sharper, become smarter because you challenge them.
And you do it without being cruel.
Do this today: ask one smart follow-up question on a post you agree with. Make it better. And just so you know.. they appreciate you 🧡
6) The Mirror
You say the thing people are scared to admit. You reflect patterns back to people gently but clearly. You make someone feel seen, not judged.
Do this today: tell someone “I relate to this because…” and share one honest line. And just so you know.. they appreciate you 🧡
7) The Momentum Giver
You don’t wait until someone is “big” to support them.
You support early.
You encourage the messy middle.
You show up before the crowd does.
That matters more than most people realize.
Do this today: support a smaller account you’ve been quietly watching. Reply with something specific. Send them a DM maybe and tell them you enjoy their content. And just so you know.. they will appreciate the heck out of you 🧡
You don’t need to be viral to matter.
If you’ve ever:
→ made someone feel less alone
→ made someone laugh on a bad day
→ helped someone ship the thing they were scared to post
…you’ve already had impact.
And I’m grateful to have people like you in my corner. Your presence is a gift.
