It’s because you are NOT giving them a reason to comment on your posts.

Let me explain…. (without the fluff) 👇🏽

Let’s get one thing straight first….

YOUR POSTS AREN’T BORING

Anyone who says that, label them as “haters” in your mind and move on!

→ People just don’t feel the need to reply once they read it.

Example:

People read: “I just had coffee”
They go: “Cool bro!” … Not something they would take the time to leave a comment on. And you know what? Even you wouldn’t.

Better post:

“I just had coffee. Best thing in my life…! Why do you hate coffee?”
Now we’re thinking: WHAT DO YOU MEAN I HATE COFFEE? *triggered* Let me tell you how much I don't hate coffee! …and the ones who actually hate coffee will also tell you why!

You don’t always need better posts.

You need invitations.

Invitations for people to take part in a conversation YOU started.

Your post = the conversation starter

The comment section = your chance to build stronger connections over relatability (or criticism).

If you’re just announcing things;
You’re not giving people a reason to express their side of the story (or opinions).

PRO-TIP:

Ask questions that facilitate a longer answer over a simple “yes/no”. Because the more time they spend replying to your post, more ‘time on content’ you get and that tells the algo this is a good post to push out to more people.

Which is why “do you agree?” “what do you think?” etc. don’t work too well.

Use this Checklist ⤵

Before you post, ask yourself:

☑ Would I reply to this post if I saw it on my feed?

☑ Does this post spark something (emotion, opinion, or even a memory)?

☑ Am I giving people a reason to share their side?

ASK AI TO HELP [WITH THIS PROMPT] ⤵

Here’s a draft of my post:

[insert your post]

Can you analyze this and tell me:
→ Is it engaging?
→ Would people feel compelled to comment or share it?
→ What kind of reactions would it trigger?
→ What’s missing that would make it more interactive or discussion-worthy?

Types of “prompts” that invite people in:

▪ Opinion triggers → “Is coffee overrated or are you just addicted?”
▪ Personal comparisons → “Coffee vs tea… which side are you on?”
▪ Vulnerable hooks → “I drink coffee because without it, my brain is sludge. WBU?”
▪ Playful challenges → “Describe your coffee order like it’s your dating profile.”

These pull people into the moment with you. Facilitates a response.
