IF YOU GIVE PEOPLE A REASON TO REPLY..

They will.

One of the TOP questions I get: why don’t people engage with me?

It’s because you are NOT giving them a reason to comment on your posts.

Let me explain…. (without the fluff) 👇🏽

YOUR POSTS AREN’T BORING

Anyone who says that, label them as “haters” in your mind and move on!

→ People just don’t feel the need to reply once they read it.

Here’s why..

Example:

You post: “I just had coffee”

In their mind, people go: “Cool bro!”
Not something they would take the time to leave a comment on.

And you know what? If you think about it, even you wouldn’t. You’d just scroll to the next post on your timeline.

Better post:

“I just had coffee. Best thing in my life…! Why do you hate coffee?”

Now people are thinking: WHAT DO YOU MEAN I HATE COFFEE? **triggered**

Let me tell you how much I don't hate coffee!
…and the ones who actually hate coffee will also tell you why!

In your comments … engagement 📈😏

In that one line,

YOU EVOKED REACTIONS FROM BOTH TYPES OF PEOPLE

Always strive to appeal to a broader audience.

Both sides = More comments.

You don’t always need better posts.

You need invitations.

Calls to Action

Encouragement for people to take part in a conversation YOU started.

Your post = the conversation starter

The comment section = your chance to build stronger connections over relatability (or criticism).

If you’re just announcing things;
You’re not giving people a reason to express their side of the story (or opinions).

BTW… Your profile has three make-or-break assets:

your banner, bio, and pinned post.

If you want a profile that feels relatable, cohesive, and unforgettable... grab this kit that walks you through achieving it step by step.

PRO-TIP:

Ask questions that facilitate a longer answer over a simple “yes/no”.

Because the more time they spend replying to your post, more ‘time on content’ you get = tells the algo this is a good post to push out to more people because people like it.

Which is why “do you agree?” “what do you think?” etc. don’t work too well.

Answer can easily be “yes” or “no”

What you just learned about…

IT’S CALLED A “CALL TO ACTION” [CTA]
Call to Comment if I may say..

And most people forget it entirely.
But you… will not forget to include a CTA on your posts from now on…. right?

ASK AI TO HELP [WITH THIS PROMPT] ⤵

Here’s a draft of my post:

[insert your post]

Can you analyze this and tell me:
→ Is it engaging?
→ Would people feel compelled to comment or share it?
→ What kind of reactions would it trigger?
→ What’s missing that would make it more interactive or discussion-worthy?

Types of “prompts” that invite people in:

▪ Opinion triggers → “Is coffee overrated or are you just addicted?”
▪ Personal comparisons → “Coffee vs tea… which side are you on?”
▪ Vulnerable hooks → “I drink coffee because without it, my brain is sludge. WBU?”
▪ Playful challenges → “Describe your coffee order like it’s your dating profile.”

These pull people into the moment with you. Facilitates a response.
