How to Build an AI System That Sounds Like You
Most people are using AI completely wrong.
They open it, ask it something, get a generic answer, close it.
And then they wonder why everything it gives them sounds like it was written by someone who's never met them.
Here's what i did instead.

The problem i kept running into
Every time i opened a new claude session to get post ideas, i was having to do the same thing over and over.
explain my brand.
give it ideas on my voice
what i'd already posted
what my audience responds to
what formats work for me
what i would never say in a million years.
It would give me suggestions that were technically fine but it didn't sound like me. It didn't really know certain specific phrase pattern sounds so AI-generated to me that I immediately delete it.
It didn't know that starting a post with "I" as the first word gets suppressed by the X algorithm.
I was spending more time correcting ideas than actually creating.
and i write / post content for a living…
I don’t have the time to have my time wasted!
So I fixed the problem. Here’s how ☟
What I Built
I spent one full day mapping my mind into a vault in Obsidian → a note-taking app that stores everything as plain files ← and connected it directly to my Claude using something called MCP (Model Context Protocol).
MCP is basically the bridge between Claude and external tools. once it's set up, Claude reads from the vault before every single session.
I built a living document that holds:
⇲ My identity layer
What i've built, what i believe, what makes my perspective specific and non-generic, my content pillars, my voice, my personality, my memories, experiences (even trauma dumps), the hook styles that work for me with real examples from my own posts.
⇲ My performance data
My actual top-performing posts with analytics of exactly why each one worked (or didn’t). The patterns behind reach vs engagement vs bookmarks. What's resonating right now and what's underperforming, with a recency weighting system so a 2-hour-old post is never compared to a 4-day-old one. Claude built the system on it’s own.
⇲ My visual identity
The exact specs for my Grok Imagine character → skin tone, hair, accessories, clothing, color palette, both my dark cinematic and abstract surreal modes. So every image is consistent without me describing it from scratch every time.
⇲ My services
Every digital product and consulting call I offer (with links), with the framework for mentioning them naturally so a promo never feels like an informercial trying to sell you something every time.
⇲ My working preferences
How i like to communicate. what to always check before giving me suggestions. what i never want proposed. the session protocol. the exact format i want content ideas presented in.
Once all of that is in the vault and connected → Claude opens a session, reads it, then does what I asked it to do. And it never had to forget.
What that Actually Produces
With this system, i get:
25 post ideas and suggestions → calibrated to my voice, based on my current analytics, my recent publishing history, zero repeats from what i already posted or scheduled.
Auto updated documents based on my feedback → content manuals, working preference guides, instructions, newsletter drafts, whatever I say, Claude saves it to the vault accordingly.
Analytics breakdown → what's working right now and what the next batch of suggestions should prioritize based my current data + what’s trending.
Research → what's trending within my content pillars each day. Provide one opportunity idea every day filtered through four specific criteria before it's even suggested to me.
The quality difference in suggestions has been absolutely INCREDIBLE.
When you document yourself carefully enough → your real perspective, your voice at its most precise, the patterns in what resonates with your specific audience ← you create something that can hold you accurately.

How to connect Claude to Obsidian (step by step)
Download Claude Desktop at claude.ai/download
Open Obsidian → go to Settings → Community Plugins → browse and install "MCP Tools" and "Local REST API" → enable it and copy the API key it generates
Find your Claude Desktop config file:
