Stop Networking. Start Connecting.

How to Keep People in Your Corner (Forever) 🧡

HEY YOU 👋🏽

You can have all the skills, money, and ambition in the world…

But if you don’t know how to maintain relationships, you’ll burn through people faster than you can meet them.

It doesn’t matter if we’re talking about clients, friends, or peers — relationships are compounding assets.

Treat them well and they pay you back a hundredfold. Neglect them, and they fade into nothing.

I have a ton of people who care about me and 100s of real friends I talk to everyday. Here’s what it takes to keep them around (all the time):

1. Check in when you don’t “need” anything

Most people only reach out when they want something. That’s a transaction, not a relationship.

↳ Send a quick DM.

↳ Tag them in something they’d love.

↳ Send them a song you think they’d enjoy.

↳ Share a win you think would make them smile.

It’s the random, thoughtful touchpoints that keep connections warm.

2. Celebrate their wins like they’re your own

You don’t need to be in the picture to clap for them.

If someone lands a client, gets promoted, or posts something great — hype them up publicly.

Instead of feeling jealous, join in.
Because your time will come too.

Your genuine support sticks in people’s minds long after the applause dies down.

3. Make conversations about them

Most people listen to reply. I listen to remember.

Ask about their projects, their challenges, their goals. Store those details and follow up later.

Nothing says “I care” like remembering something small they mentioned months ago.

đź’ˇ If you want to scale that personal touch without losing track, I recommend checking out Attio. It’s an AI-powered CRM that automatically syncs your emails and calendar, keeping all your contacts, interactions, and insights in one place. Think of it as your memory — but sharper and faster.

Finally, a powerful CRM—made simple.

Attio is the AI-native CRM built to scale your company from seed stage to category leader. Powerful, flexible, and intuitive to use, Attio is the CRM for the next-generation of teams.

Sync your email and calendar, and Attio instantly builds your CRM—enriching every company, contact, and interaction with actionable insights in seconds.

With Attio, AI isn’t just a feature—it’s the foundation.

  • Instantly find and route leads with research agents

  • Get real-time AI insights during customer conversations

  • Build AI automations for your most complex workflows

  • Join fast growing teams like Flatfile, Replicate, Modal, and more.

4. Show up where they are

Join their Space. Comment on their post. Support their launch.

You can’t build a strong network from them being the one who constantly shows up; you have to be present where they’re building too.

5. Be consistent, even in the quiet times

Relationships aren’t built in bursts of effort. They’re maintained in the quiet, uneventful in-between moments.

Keep showing up; even when there’s no “reason” to; and you’ll stand out in a world full of people who disappear.

Bonus tip:

If you’re trying to grow your network on 𝕏, don’t overcomplicate it:

↳ Reply thoughtfully to 3–5 people daily

↳ Share something that helps or inspires

↳ DM someone random without an agenda (every day)

Do this for 90 days and watch how many doors open.

The takeaway:

Networking is just a fancy word for building human connections.

If you want them to last treat people like people, not like stepping stones.

Sometimes you might have to give more than you get… But it’s going to be totally worth it. I promise 🧡
