Everyone loves to blame the algorithm.

A lot of times however, it’s not the algo.

There’s one common behavior people unknowingly show that destroys your visibility faster than low-quality content ever will:

You keep breaking your own patterns.

Creators do it constantly:

✦ Switching formats every week

✦ Posting at random times

✦ Replying in bursts, then disappearing

✦ Changing tone, niche, style, vibe, everything

✦ Going from “hyper-active” to “off the grid” overnight

Your visibility drops not because you’re doing something wrong…

but because you stop doing the things that were working.

Algorithms reward recognizable behavior.

Humans do too.

When you keep restarting your own momentum… your account resets with it.

Let’s breakdown why frequent pivots can have a negative effect 👇🏽

Shoppers are adding to cart for the holidays

Over the next year, Roku predicts that 100% of the streaming audience will see ads. For growth marketers in 2026, CTV will remain an important “safe space” as AI creates widespread disruption in the search and social channels. Plus, easier access to self-serve CTV ad buying tools and targeting options will lead to a surge in locally-targeted streaming campaigns.

Read our guide to find out why growth marketers should make sure CTV is part of their 2026 media mix.

🚨 OKAY BACK TO TOPIC 🚨

Why This Kills Your Reach

Here’s how the algo thinks:

“If I can’t recognize what this account is, I can’t confidently distribute their content.”

Translation:

Unpredictable behavior = inconsistent reach.

Your best-performing days, your best replies, your highest engagement streaks —

they all come from pattern consistency, not randomness.

Break the pattern?

You break the momentum.

How to Fix It

Here’s the simple rule:

Find what works… then repeat it until it stops working.

That’s it.

Here’s how to apply it:

1. Identify your last 10 successful behaviors

Look at your last 10 high-performing days.

Find the pattern, not the outlier.

2. Stick to one reply style for at least 7 days

Short. Punchy. High-effort. Doesn’t matter.

Just be consistent.

3. Post in the same tone for a full week

You can rotate topics — not tone.

4. Don’t disappear after a high-reach day

Momentum compounds.

Leaving kills it.

5. Stop resetting the algorithm’s understanding of you

Be predictable in a smart way.

The algo likes creators it can trust.

And it trusts patterns.

Your growth isn’t slow because you lack talent.

It’s slow because you keep interrupting your own momentum.

Stop breaking what’s working.

Double down instead.

You don’t need to reinvent the wheel.

You just need to repeat what’s winning.

REMEMBER:

You’re here to stand out.
