🧠 Turn Psychology Into Profit

10 triggers that make people click, engage, and buy (from you) and how to use them without seeming like a scammer.

Most creators are doing this backwards:

They post > hope and pray > “stay consistent.” > wonder why no one’s engaging.

Here’s what’s actually happening:

People don’t engage because you “deserve it.”

They engage because their brain got a reason to interact / buy.

So let’s see how we can give every brain a reason to do something with you.

Quick Detour for my sponsors today: DEEL

Check out what they are offering for my readers:

Pay for Results, Stop Paying for Traffic

Are you spending marketing dollars on clicks that never turn into sales?

For many Amazon sellers, the issue isn’t traffic – it’s paying upfront for results that never come.

Levanta helps Amazon brands shift from ad spend to performance-based affiliate marketing, so you only pay when a sale happens. Sellers can easily track performance, automate payouts, and work with creators who already drive real buying intent.

Qualified brands will receive a $100 DoorDash or Uber Eats gift card when they book a Levanta demo.

🚨 OKAY BACK TO TOPIC 🚨

Don’t use random tactics. Instead, use 2–3 triggers on purpose.

  • ➤ Pick 1 primary trigger (the main reason they act)

  • ➤ Add 1 secondary trigger (the reason they act now)

  • ➤ Optional: add 1 trust trigger (the reason they trust you)

Example stacks:

  • Curiosity + Authority = “I need to know what they know.”

  • Scarcity + Social Proof = “Other people are in… I should be too.”

  • Reciprocity + Consistency = “They helped me… I’ll follow through.”

Now let’s load your toolbox.

HERE’S THE 10 TRIGGERS YOU CAN USE

1) Reciprocity

People return favors.

→ Give value before you ask for anything.

↳ Drop a free template, checklist, swipe file, or mini breakdown.

Use it in posts: “Here’s the exact framework. Steal it.”

2) Scarcity

Limited availability makes things feel more valuable.

→ Add a real limit: spots, time, capacity.

↳ “10 spots.” “Ends tonight.” “Last round this month.”

Rule: if it’s fake, people feel it.

3) Social Proof

People follow what other people already trust.

→ Show receipts: screenshots, wins, testimonials, results.

↳ Even small proof works if it’s real.

Use it in posts: “Here’s what someone messaged me after using this.”

4) Authority

People listen to confident competence.

→ Lead with experience, outcomes, or earned perspective.

↳ “I’ve tested this across 200 posts.” “Here’s what consistently works.”

Authority isn’t a title. It’s evidence + certainty.

5) Consistency

People want to act in alignment with who they think they are.

→ Start small: polls, tiny commitments, low-risk opt-ins.

↳ Then invite the next step.

Use it in posts: “If you’re serious about growth, do this one thing today.”

6) Liking

People buy from people they like.

→ Be human on purpose: humor, personality, behind-the-scenes, opinions.

↳ Don’t sanitize yourself into a brochure.

Hot take: “professional” is often just “forgettable.”

7) Urgency

Time pressure speeds decisions.

→ Give a time-based reason to move.

↳ “Doors close Friday.” “Bonus ends tonight.”

Best combo: urgency + scarcity (time + limited supply).

8) Curiosity

The brain hates open loops.

→ Write hooks that make people NEED the next line.

↳ “Most people ruin their engagement with one innocent habit…”

Tip: Don’t tease forever. Deliver fast.

9) Loss Aversion

People fear losing more than they desire gaining.

→ Frame what they lose by ignoring this.

↳ “Every day you delay, you’re donating momentum to someone else.”

Use it sparingly. It’s powerful.

10) Novelty

New patterns break the scroll.

→ Change formats: story, list, screenshot breakdown, “do this not that,” mini case study.

↳ Same idea, new container.

Novelty doesn’t mean random. It means “unexpected, but relevant.”

3rd sponsor of the day: Check out what LEVANTA is offering for you guys:

Pay for Results, Stop Paying for Traffic

Your problem isn’t traffic, it’s paying for useless clicks that never convert.

Levanta helps Amazon sellers shift from ad spend to performance based affiliate marketing so you only pay when a sale happens.

The “Write This Post In 5 Minutes” Framework

Use this when you don’t know what to post, but you need results.

Step 1: Pick the goal

→ engagement / clicks / sales / follows

Step 2: Pick your trigger stack (2–3)

↳ Examples:

▪ Engagement: Curiosity + Liking
▪ Sales: Authority + Scarcity
▪ Clicks: Curiosity + Loss Aversion
▪ Follows: Social Proof + Authority

Step 3: Plug into this template

  • Hook (curiosity OR loss)

  • Proof (authority OR social proof)

  • Offer (reciprocity or direct CTA)

  • Constraint (scarcity or urgency)

Example:

✦ “Most people are posting ‘value’ and still getting ignored. Here’s why.”

✦ “I tested this across multiple formats — the winner wasn’t the tip, it was the trigger.”

✦ “Here are 10 triggers you can stack starting today.”

✦ “If you want the checklist version, reply ‘TRIGGERS’ and I’ll send it.”

Small Challenge (do this today)

Pick one thing you’re promoting (newsletter, offer, product, community).

Then write 3 versions of the same promo using different trigger stacks:

→ Version A: Curiosity + Authority
→ Version B: Social Proof + Scarcity
→ Version C: Reciprocity + Urgency

Post one today. Queue the other two.

That’s how you stop guessing and start controlling outcomes.

See you on the next one
