What “low-trust” signals are you accidentally giving off on your profile?
If people are liking your posts but not following…
It’s usually not your content.
→ It’s the 5 seconds after they click your profile.
That’s where trust either forms… or dies.
Let’s take a look at what you can do to make sure people actually follow you!

Quick Detour for my sponsors today: Whispr Flow
Check out what they are offering for my readers:
Speak your prompts. Get better outputs.
The best AI outputs come from detailed prompts. But typing long, context-rich prompts is slow - so most people don't bother.
Wispr Flow turns your voice into clean, ready-to-paste text. Speak naturally into ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, or any AI tool and get polished output without editing. Describe edge cases, explain context, walk through your thinking - all at the speed you talk.
Millions of people use Flow to give AI tools 10x more context in half the time. 89% of messages sent with zero edits.
Works system-wide on Mac, Windows, iPhone, and now Android (free and unlimited on Android during launch).
🚨 OKAY BACK TO TOPIC 🚨
THE PROBLEM
Your profile is a page that gives people a reason to trust you.
It should not be a mystery novel.
When someone lands on your profile, their brain asks:
→ Who are you?
→ Are you legit?
→ Are you consistent?
→ Will you waste my time?
If your profile doesn’t answer those fast…
↳ you feel “mehh”
And “mehh” = no follow.
Example:
You’ve seen profiles like this:
☒ Random @ name + no keywords
☒ Bio is long but says nothing
☒ Pinned post is old / irrelevant / missing
☒ Banner is chaotic or blank
☒ Link goes to nowhere helpful
☒ Tweets are all over the place (no pattern)
Even if the person is smart… it reads like a dead-end.
So you leave.
People are looking at your profile the exact same way!
✨ WHAT TO DO
➊ Make your name do some work
Your @ can be anything. Your name field is prime real estate.
Instead of just: name or your full name
Add a quick signature that makes you stand out on the timeline. Emojis or a symbol does a great job of it! That emoji instantly becomes part of your branding.
Read this if you wanna learn more about this concept:
➋ Your bio needs ONE clear promise
Not your life story. Or a mindlessly borrowed quote.
Write:
→ what you help with
→ for who
→ in what style
Examples:
✓ I teach AI + X growth with zero fluff.
✓ Prompts, branding, and content that converts into community.
✓ I help creators turn ideas into posts, visuals, and newsletters.
If someone can’t repeat what you do after reading your bio… you’re losing their follow.
➌ Fix your pinned post (this is where you can really show yourself off)
Your pinned post should answer:
→ why follow you
→ what you talk about
→ what to do next
If your pinned post is:
☒ old
☒ off-topic
☒ a random viral tweet
☒ nothing at all
You don’t really get to introduce yourself!
Pinned Post template you can copy:
→ What you’re about (1 line)
→ What you post (3 bullets)
→ Proof (1 line)
→ CTA (1 line)

Here's how I use Attio to run my day.
Attio's AI handles my morning prep — surfacing insights from calls, updating records without manual entry, and answering pipeline questions in seconds. No searching, no switching tabs, no manual updates.
➍ Stop the “mystery profile” thing
Mystery doesn’t create intrigue.
Mystery creates:
→ uncertainty
→ and uncertainty kills follows.
If you’re a little chaotic (most creators are), that’s fine.
But your profile needs to feel intentional.
➎ Your banner should match your vibe
You don’t need fancy design. You just need to use it as an extension of your branding. If your content is bold + clean + punchy…
And your banner is:
☒ random photo
☒ messy collage
☒ totally different aesthetic
That disconnect reads like “mehh.” And remember… mehh = no follow!
Pick one:
→ clean photo of you (trust)
→ simple brand visual (consistency)
→ 3 words you want to be known for (if you use text, keep it minimal)
➏ Make your link worth clicking
A dead link is low trust.
A sus looking link is well… SUS!
A link to something useful is high trust.
Best options:
→ newsletter subscribe page
→ your best free guide
→ your landing page: who you help + what you offer + where to start
If the link doesn’t help them take a next step… you’re wasting the click.
