5 Rules Creators Need to Write like a Pro

Your writing deserves better than “In this post I want to...” Let's fix your writing in 5 minutes.

In partnership with

How to Write Like a Pro (Even if U Think U Suck)

No one’s scrolling X thinking, “Wow, I’d love to read a paragraph right now.”

They’re skimming.

They’re scanning.

They’re deciding in two seconds if your post is worth reading.

So here’s 5 quick rules you can follow to make sure they are 👇

1. LEAD WITH A HOOK

You get one line to stop them from scrolling.

Make it count.

→ Ask a question that punches.
→ Drop an opinion that triggers both sides.
→ State a truth that slaps people awake.
→ Write something that makes someone say “wait… same.” or “wait… WTF??”

Also, you hook needs to be relatable.

Example:

✘ “In this post, I’ll talk about…”
✓ “Ever feel like your brain’s running 12 tabs but none are loading?”

2. WRITE LIKE YOU TALK

If it doesn’t sound like you, it’s useless.

Forget grammar for a sec.
Forget structure.

You’re not writing an essay.
You’re writing to connect.

Say it the way you’d text your friend.

Be human.

Be messy (yes… could be on purpose).

Add vibes, pauses, sarcasm, emotions.

Let the voice they have in their head carry your message.

3. FORMAT SO IT’S EASY TO SKIM THRU

Nobody reads walls of text.

Use:

↳ Line breaks
↳ Arrows + bullets
↳ Short sentences

READABLE = RELATABLE = RETAINABLE

Read this if you need tips on how to format: Formatting 101

4. SIMPLICITY > INTELLIGENCE

You’re not here to sound intelligent.

You’re here to make people get it.

Complex ≠ clever.
Simple explanations appeal to a broader audience.

Explain things like you would to a curious 5-year-old (maybe not 5..but a 15yr old..)

If they understand, everyone will.

Your goal: “Ohhh, wow I get it.”
Not: “Wait… what did they mean by that?”

5. END WITH A BANG!

Don’t leave people with an anti-climactic ending!

Leave them with:

☸ A question to chew on
☸ A punchline that makes them comment
☸ A takeaway that lingers (maybe inspire THEIR next post?)

Make it feel like the convo just started — not ‘the end’.
